What to know
What we look for before recommending a clinic
The first checks usually relate to who is involved in treatment, how the clinic environment is governed, how suitability is discussed, and what support is provided once treatment day is over.
A clinic should not feel reassuring only because of branding or location. It should feel clear in its standards, realistic in its planning, and specific about what patients can expect before and after treatment.
- Procedures should be explained clearly, including the role of GMC-registered doctors.
- The clinic environment should be easy to understand and verify, including whether treatment is delivered through a CQC-registered provider in England.
- Suitability, aftercare, and limitations should be discussed openly rather than left vague.
